SEO Team Lead

About the role:

The SEO Lead position is part of the SEO team within the Acquisition department. The role will develop and execute SEO strategy both Globally and specific to its market designation. Reporting to the Head of Search Engine Marketing, the SEO Lead will be focused on partnering with cross-functional teams to drive SEO initiatives and will have a strong ability to interpret data to provide thought leadership, team leadership/management skills, innovation, and tactical optimisation. The position requires a highly energised, persuasive, self-motivated ‘people-person' with strong technical and analytical skills, a high detail-orientation and excellent written and verbal communication. This person will expertly manage a team of up to 4 SEO Executives.

Virtual Team responsibilities:

Aligning with Virtual Market Acquisition groupings to represent SEO as a vital part of the Acquisition Teams, the SEO Lead will:

·       Work to integrate with other acquisition channel leads where revenue opportunities are presented 

·       Report to DMM and Head of Acquisition on tactical findings inside the channel

·       Develop supplier and internal relationships in the market/s that maximise SEO performance and revenue.

·       Identify, understand, and act upon potential indicators that result in KPI improvements within the Virtual Team remit.

Responsibilities within the SEO Team:

Define our SEO success, working closely with analysts' reporting, and communicating performance and insight to show progress toward performance and achieving Team/Group KPIs

Build strong, trusted relationships with key stakeholders to become a reliable source and partner.

Identify Global and market needs and use knowledge to launch new projects efficiently and without close direction that will increase visibility and ultimately drive (new) revenue.

Leverage assigned budget wisely amongst projects using trusted third-party providers.

Manage, and report findings of, regular comprehensive Website Audits and Competitive Search Analyses.

Have a mastery of succinct business-writing skills in client communications, decks, internal memos.

Remain on point with latest industry trends, guidelines, and search algorithm changes.

Project Management: Define, prioritize, and manage the execution of key SEO strategic and tactical initiatives.

What have you done?

Skills, and experience:

4-5 years of SEO experience either in an agency or client-side is essential.  Active, hands-on optimization experience is required.

You will write coherently, be able to present your ideas in an organised clear manner and be willing to stand up to the challenges of markets teams.

A unique balance of disciplined strategic thinking, creative passion, and a willingness to stay hands-on.

Articulating and communicating the impact that Technical Structure, Design & Development, Content, Navigation, Branding/Marketing, Performance, Website Functionality have on SEO.

Experience using and interpreting web analytics data.

Experience of a corporate CMS and an understanding of the impact this can have on SEO.

Basic/Intermediate HTML understanding

Ability to perform research, analyse websites, document changes, and make decisions.

Paid search experience is not essential, but you will have a base understanding of how SEO and Google Ads synergise.

Social media awareness and its potential impact on Search

A mastery of the fundamentals; Page titles, meta tags, headers, URL structure, link anchor text.

Education/Qualifications:

BA in Marketing, Comms, Media Sciences, Journalism, Computer Science, or Engineering is preferred.
